ACRYLIC PAINTING FOR ADULTS
Please note: All classes are held at the Casa de Linda Art Studio in Wimberley, Texas.
"[Linda} walks the class step by step through everything from preparing your work space, what to use as a palette to keep your paint from drying, understanding how to mix the paint, what brushes to use, the care of brushes, and storing the paint. She helps you SEE color, and how to mix it, and correct mistakes, and avoid mistakes. Her critiques are gentle, but firm, and laced with humor. Every student is treated as if they are the only student. She helped me slow down and zero in on what acrylics can and cannot do. I was initially afraid of the media and with her guidance, came to really enjoy painting again. I completed several works in class, and was finally brave enough to paint again at home in this new medium. I so enjoyed the acrylics class, I decided to take a class in gouache, another medium to explore with a great teacher.

ACRYLIC PAINTING SCHEDULE
Adult Acrylic Painting: Wednesday class Schedule (AFTERNOONs)
- Wednesday afternoon classes meet 1-3:15 p.m.
- Prepay for 7 weeks at a time. Class fee $260 for 7 weeks.
- Purchase of complete starter kit required for new students ($166.28 + tax). Total cost to get started is $440 (classes, kit and tax); Venmo, CC, check or cash; pay on first day of class.
- Classes are "on-going" and will continue to meet year around.

General Information for New Students — Basic Acrylic Painting

1. This is a basic introduction to acrylic painting class for adults. Students with no or little prior painting experience are welcome.
2. We work with a limited palette of 8 colors (white, yellow, 2 blues, 2 reds, 2 browns). You will learn how to mix a wide variety of colors, shades and tints from these 8 colors. You’ll learn how and when to use different types of brushes and tools for different effects.
3. All new students are required to purchase a Starter Kit from Casa de Linda when you begin the class. No exceptions. The kit is $180 with sales tax, and includes all paints, brushes and your first stretched canvas…everything you need to get started. During class you will only use the colors and brushes in this kit. Please do not bring supplies from home.
4. Current fee is $260 for 6 classes (except for Wednesday afternoons which are shorter so you get 7 classes). Classes should be used up in a timely manner and you will not be penalized for up to 3 absences as long as you get in touch as soon as you know you are going to miss a class (or follow up later in case of an emergency).
You may continue to renew as long as you want and as long as classes are being offered. If you need to attend less than 6 classes to complete a painting you've started, you may do so at a pay-as-you-go rate of $50 per 3-hour class.
5. All students begin with landscapes from books I have on hand. Once you’ve completed a few variations of landscapes, we can talk about future projects based on your individual interests, skills, etc.
6. Classes are limited in size to no more than 6 students per class. Adults only. Advanced registration is required to secure a seat.
7. All classes are held in the Casa de Linda Art Studio, located at 13620 Ranch Road 12, in Building "B" behind Fair Dinkum Coffee. Please visit our "Map" page for directions.
8. Classes meet weekly. However, due to our traveling for shows and gallery visits, we may skip weeks occasionally, in which case students will know well in advance.
